Deke Dickerson

The film score and most of the songs in the film were written by Deke Dickerson. A musician who’s family originally hails from the Appalachian part of Southwestern Virginia, Dickerson brought a sensitivity based on his own family’s experience with tragedy in the area.

Deke Dickerson has produced music for Bob Dylan’s “Theme Time Radio Hour” and according to Vanity Fair is tied with Elvis Costello as the most frequent guest on his program. An acclaimed musician, he has released 23 cd’s, played with everybody from Elvis’s original band to Link Wray, and provided music for many movies including Sideways and Election.
